About Quarryfields

Quarryfields is a small scrubland situated on the north coast of Cornwall near Upton Towans, Hayle. It is right on the edge of the large sand dune complex at Hayle Towans and is less than half a mile from the sea. It is predominantly Buddleia and brambles which have taken over a derelict sand distribution site but has some mature evergreens and Sycamores at its northern edge. There are five net lanes (A,B,C,D and E) but only A, D and E are currently in use.

Net A is a 30ft mist net situated in a sheltered copse and is the main feeding station.
Net B is also 30ft and in this copse and runs at a 90 degree angle to Net A.
Net C is a 30ft mist net in a net ride which is on the edge of a small spruce copse.
Net D is a 30ft mist net which runs in a ride cut through brambles and between two large mature sycamores.
Net E is a 40ft mist net, near to Net D and running through brambles adjacent to a large Sycamore.

There is also a funnel trap and spring trap occasionally used on site.
